Once hired, upon completion of the field training program, probationary period, and a required length of time in patrol, you have the option to pursue a variety of career opportunities, including:

Criminal Investigations
Community Services
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement
K-9 Unit
Motor Unit

You may also pursue specialized positions such as field training officer,
honor guard, Specialized Response Team (SRT), Entry Team, Bike Patrol
and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). 

Members of the Pflugerville Police Department are also provided with the
latest state of the art equipment.  Each also receives extensive year-round training both in house and through outside school opportunities. 

The Pflugerville Police Department generally has employment opportunities in Animal Control, Communications, Records, and Crime Scene for non-sworn civilian personnel.

Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire.
Be a graduate of an accredited high school or have an equivalency certificate;
Licensed Peace Officer or within 60 days of graduation from an approved Peace Officer academy.
Have a valid Texas driver's license at the date of hire;
Be a citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization;
Be able to read, write, and speak the English language;
Be of good moral character;
Not be prohibited from carrying a firearm or possessing ammunition; 
Achieve a minimum passing score of seventy (70) percent on the written examination;
Pass the required physical ability course;
Pass an in-depth background investigation;
Pass oral interviews;
Successfully complete a post-job offer psychological examination and medical examination;

Relocation assistance may be available for out-of-town candidates.
