Google for Fiber Communities
The City of Pflugerville applied to be a test city for
Google’s Fiber for Communities experiment
which will make Internet access better and faster for everyone. Google plans to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country.
If selected, Google advertises that Pflugerville and its residents would receive cheaper fiber connections for all homes and the network would deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans access today with over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections which means huge connectivity for Pflugerville. Your uploading, sharing videos, streaming music, film pictures, downloads, web chats and file transferring and page loading would happen in record time!
The city applied and we hope that residents filled out Google's online survey to nominate us too! Now we just get to wait and see who they select.
Google was interested in resident involvement and fun YouTube videos and other creative submissions! Help your city! Could we become a Pfgoogleville?
Do you have a fun Pflugerville / Google YouTube video? Did you design a cool Pflugerville/ Google logo? Send it to us and we'll post it!
